Pro Tour Qualifier - Two Namibians are going to Europe!

What an exciting, surprising and exhausting tournament it was! 18 players from our community, including 3 Swakopmunders and one player from Otjiwarongo attended our Pro Tour qualifiers on 27 August 2022.

We are so proud and excited to be one of only two countries in Africa that have hosted this important event this year.

We started playing at 10 a.m. in a competitive yet relaxed setup at our Local Game Store Imagine Games. 18 players with 18 different decks - what a colourful, adventurous and exciting mixture of everything the pioneer format has to offer. Five intensive, surprising and sometimes nerve-wracking rounds later, the eight quarter-finalists were determined

After a relaxed lunch break with a nice bring & braai the finals took place. In the end our loyal community members from Windhoek, Ian van Wyk (Firts place with Azorius Spirits) and Johannes Loytty (Runner Up with Izzet Phoenix) won the trip to Sofia, Bulgaria to represent Namibia in the European Regional Championship Qualifiers. Ian and Johannes will face off against the top players from across the European, African and Middle East regions to prove they're one of the best and ready for the "Pro Tour".
